Peterborough provides an Ultrasound service which is Sonographer led with Sonographers undertaking all aspects of Ultrasound including, small parts, some vascular, Muscluo –skeletal, transrectal & Pediatrics. We will shortly be undertaking liver examinations using ultrasound contrast agents

 You must be qualified to do Obstetric, Gynecology and general abdominal ultrasound and experience in lower limb venography would be preferable. We are looking for someone who is confident to working on their own and report their own work. The department is extremely pro-active encouraging staff to develop their skills further with continuous training and development offered. They must also be willing to participate in audit, peer revue and play an active role in presentations for study day's etc.

We currently receive a Practitioner allowance but are in the process of finalising an Advanced Practitioner re-grading (15% of basic Senior I Sonographer salary) with the Trust. 

The ultrasound service is based over four sites in and around Peterborough, each site has various machines including Acusons, Aloka`s and ATL`s & are awaiting delivery of 6 new high spec ultrasound machines.

The post will involve rotation through the four different sites. At present we offer flexible working hours between 8am & 8pm. Car driver is essential, as some sites are outlying.
